Words don't do justice to how great the fishing trip was we took with Redfish Nation from start to finish. Capt David is a top notch guide and a even better individual that always has a smile on his face. From the first contact I made with him he treated us like family, he helped me and my wife... with lodging reservations which was awesome stayed on the water and got pick up by boat to head out fishing. The fishing was awesome caught tons of fish even watched dolphins both days so close to the boat you could almost touch them. From the very beginning Capt David recommend that we let him make dinner reservations for us where the chef would use the fish we caught to prepare dinner for us. That was the best dinning experience I have ever had, highly recommend every one else take him up on his offer will not be disappointed. The trip was great, the people we met were great, and the Capt is 1st class, we will be back.read more

If your looking for a charter fishing trip this is the guy to use. It was a treat for the whole family. It was a child-friendly fishing charter. He was focused on the kids and introduced them to saltwater fishing. Captain David took his time to explain all the different types of fish, gear, and... interesting facts. The kids caught a bunch of fish while having quality family time. Our trip created memories that will last forever.read more

Do we need a fishing license?

Resident and nonresident recreational fishermen age 16 or older must have a Basic Fishing License and Saltwater License. The entire coast of Louisiana is brackish waters, so you'll be catching freshwater and saltwater species side-by-side!

If you do not currently possess a valid Louisiana fishing license, you can purchase a Charter Passenger License for only $10. The license is valid to fish from a charter vessel with a licensed guide on board at all times, and this license is is valid up to 3 days. You must provide the charter guide’s license number when you purchase a Charter Passenger License. Contact us if you need assistance!

Licenses are also available at special rates for seniors, military, students, and people with disabilities.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries.

What should we bring?

Items to protect yourself: sunscreen, insect repellent, hat or visor, polarized sunglasses, and weather appropriate clothing such as rain gear

Fishing license and identification

Food or snacks

Ice chests to transport your fish filets home

Can we bring an ice chest on the boat?

There is no need! An area with ice will be provided to keep your beverages and food chilled; and your catch will be kept separately on ice, too.

Can we bring alcohol?

Beer and low volume alcohol drinks are allowed during the chartered trip, but no glass containers please. Liquor is not allowed. The Captain reserves the right to terminate any fishing trip for safety reasons due to the consumption of any alcohol without a refund.

Is lodging provided?

Lodging is not provided in your guided trip, but accommodations can be made for you at one of the many options nearby. We can help you arrange lodging at cabins in the area, and you can be picked up by boat at your choice of lodging! Contact the Captain to coordinate your stay by the water to make your fishing trip that much more enjoyable for you.

What if there is bad weather?

Every effort is made to monitor the current and forecasted weather conditions before your day of fishing!

Your safety is the number one priority. Your Captain reserves the right to terminate the trip for everyone's safety in the event of inclement weather, or you may return to the boat dock to wait out a small storm. Trips that are terminated due to weather after leaving the boat launch will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Can we cancel and get a refund?

There is a minimum 7-day notice for client cancellations. You must notify the Captain more than 7 days in advance to reschedule or cancel your scheduled fishing trip. Please understand clients usually schedule weeks in advance, and it is difficult to find another client on short notice causing the business a loss of revenue. Thank you for understanding of this policy. Every effort will always be made to ensure your satisfaction within business capabilities.

Can we bring children?
